High Throughput Protein Expression and Screening

To rapidly tap into Protéus immense resources of proteins originating from natural biodiversity or from directed evolution, we use a dedicated automated platform for functional protein expression and screening. Located in a class-1,000 cleanroom, it provides a throughput of more than 10,000 assays/day.

To feed the screening platform with functional proteins, we have built a comprehensive protein expression platform, including expression systems based on prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Our platform also includes Phenomics™, a proprietary cell-free expression system which provides useful tools for difficult-to-express proteins and for cytotoxic proteins.

 We have an extensive experience in designing screening tests to reproduce the targeted application conditions. Additionally, Protéus also has exclusive rights on innovative CLIPS-O™ screening assays that have been designed and patented in collaboration with the University of Bern, Switzerland. CLIPS-O™ is specific, sensitive and provide an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio.
