Directed Evolution Services
Screening of genetic libraries generated by EvoSight ™ and L-Shuffling ™ is a crucial step for the success of your directed evolution project. Your project is unique and requires a specifically adapted screening assay enabling the selection of improved variants with sought properties.
Functional high throughput screening of protein libraries is at the core of Protéus’s expertise. We have a unique platform combining first class infrastructure with proprietary technologies (CLIPS-O™ and Phenomics™) for in vitro screening.
We have a proven track record in the development of simple to complex screening assays (enzymatic activity, binding, etc...)
Protéus screening platform
Protéus has built a dedicated platform with first class equipment featuring:

- class 1000 clean rooms
- robotics (colony picking, cherry picking, liquid-handling devices)
- plate reading devices (colorimetry and fluorescence)
- routine throughput of 10,000 assays per day for colorimetric readout
- 2000 HPLC-based screens per week
CLIPS-O™
CLIPS-O™ is a family of low background substrates compatible with high throughput screening of enzymes, even in extreme conditions. This technology has been designed and patented in collaboration with the University of Bern (Switzerland).
The CLIPS-O™ technology is applicable to a large range of enzymatic activities, allowing the design of accurate and sensitive enzymatic screening assays.
Phenomics™

Phenomics™ is a proprietary technology for cell-free expression of functional proteins. Cell-free expression is a method of choice when a protein is difficult to express (e.g. due to cytotoxicity or strong regulation), or when small amounts are demanded (see Prod’line™ for more details).
Phenomics™ was developed to address our own need for standardised and rapid expression of functional proteins for high throughput library screening. We collaborated with prominent experts worldwide to develop and patent this unique technology.
